THIS WEEK HAS BEEN A STRENUOUS WEEK BUT IM SO GLAD THAT IM GOING TO HAVE A WEEK BREAK NEXT WEEK! HURRAY FOR ME, MYSELF AND I !!
So this week, there weren't much artsy events for me to do... but we went to SAM once again but to another scarier exhibition in its premises.
SAM once again
So for another module Creative thinking, we went to Singapore Arts Museum for another exhibition called Medium At Large. Previously we went to the sensorium360 and it was kind of a headache.
When we reached there, we went to the exhibition to see a particular art piece called Shaggy, which is a Famous trending hairstyle in Indonesia!
Shaggy is made out of hair, curlers and clips, which is seriously digesting yet intriguing as it is unusual to use such material to design such big art pieces.
Our activity for that structure is to design a hairstyle that we always wanted but cannot get! So i drew a lady with massive big hair as Im fond of big hairstyles with no hair dye in my hair! She looks kind of like a villain from some Marvel or DC comics><
Then further into the exhibition, i noticed the sudden weirdness in the air as it suddenly turned a little more scry than i thought, like i have entered into some haunted house! the feeling is still lingering in my body and it still freaks me out!
Below is a entire room with many open books and dark patterns everywhere. At first i thought it was all coffins!!!
This photo is also quite interesting. Personally i really like anatomy of animals and human bodies! Quite gruesome to some but to me its kind of fun as i did a entire project about human anatomy before and is used to the disgusting images but bones, heart and other human body parts.
What i really like about this painting is that the skeleton looks so delicate and the colour scheme is really power and clean!
The mouse at the corner is painted so neatly . I'm kind of jealous of how the artist can paint so beautifully and i aim to do such magnificent artworks like him one day!
This piece here is using charcoal and paper. if u look carefully, its actually layers and layers of paper covered with charcoal shadings! Its my first time seeing charcoal paintings and i love how it can be so delicate and distinct, how the shading is so neat and how it shows roundness and roughness.
I noticed that most of the art pieces are all human and their body parts, which is my favourite type of subject as it shows both happiness and sorrow at the same time in the same exact moment!
THIS IS ACTUALLY MY FAVORITE AMONG ALL!!!
This looks like a body splattered on the wall brutally, i can feel the anger, frustration and pain of this painting. This painting is just made up of splotches and lines of thick red paint and black painted. none of the paint is smudged, which makes this piece such a incredible piece in my eyes. Yes... it gruesome but it really took my breathe away when i just sit there on the bench in front of the art piece.
This entire piece below is made up of metal shades which lets off some sparkling glittering feel. You can see the texture and see the contrast even though its all the same colour. The artist is really talented to be able to put a face using such fine powdery material!!
I LOVE THE SHADOWS THAT THIS STRUCTURE MADE ON THE WALL<3 Its unique structure makes it so versatile in its shadow and even though the structure is made out of just wooden lines , it shows contours and roundness ! but on the shadow, it mostly shows squarish feel and also u can analyse hat the more the lines collide with each other, the more darker the shadow is! This structure also makes the environment very artsy even in a empty plain room! I WOULD STAY IN THERE FOREVER!^^
TEACHERS DAY LEARNING HOW TO BE A TEACHER
The irony of how its teachers day and I'm learning how to be a teacher in the future. We were told to sketch and paint about bell peppers! I'm not really good at painting so its kind of a challenge for me, added with the small paper area given to me. Im kind go happy with the results even though i know that i can do better as i have painting pictures on walls in my house!
We were also told to bring a object that represents me so i bought my favourite figurine in my collection, Alice! Why Alice? It is because i did my o level artwork entirely based her and her adventures underground to wonderland! 9 months of hard work, so i can't really prevent my love for Alice in wonderland to bloom! i realised she is stubborn, imaginative, creative and kind of crazy like me ! so i believe that I'm like Alice in some ways except for the blonde hair!
Alice will be part of my final project in the end of the 12 weeks... which means i will be drawing alice once again for the next few weeks! YEAY FOR ME!
Though i didn't get to go back to my secondary school nor my primary school, i really enjoyed my week... Hopefully i can go back to either one of the schools again to see my teachers and some of my old friends and juniors!
Hopefully next week will be more ARTSY than this week~~
