E-reflection 9

WHOLE OF WEEK8

There weren't much to do during this week but i learnt somethings new this entire week after a week of some sort of holiday which is not a holiday! hahaha. Had a nice week break but now we have to jump back to the joys and pain of school once more! I can't wait for the holiday!! woohoo! so close yet so far!

JUXTAPOSITION

I have learnt a new term which means it consist of 2 opposing objects which changes the meaning of the entire picture! Its really interesting and we have to create 3d figures of what we are going to do! I still haven't thought of doing which one but i hope that it will turn out successful as i thought of it in my head!

This is a child's play tricycle which represents innocence and fun in the child but behind is a war tank which represents war and bloodshed! its totally different and the entire meaning of the picture just changed within a few secs at the moment u look at this particular picture in your own perspective!

Well this to me is just the dark versus the light ! the dark represents what ever we are doing which is hurting the planet, us and the environment ! while for the light is the utopia that we all want to achieve in the process for the humans to I've in with peace and joy! this entire picture is to show that we are hurting everyone trying to achieve something we all want. either that or one side of the world is enjoying their lives in bliss and happiness while the other side is suffering in darkness and here is sorrow everywhere! DDEEEEPPPPP.

I did thought of becoming a tattoo artist cause i really love to draw on people's hand with a permanent marker which is said to be bad for our health! BUT I COULDNT RESIST!!! Its really fun to decorate my friend's hand and she actually likes it a lot so I'm good with it !! hehehe

JUST FACES IN THE CROWD

During Creative thinking this week, we are suppose to find ordinary things which somehow looks like there is a face in it ! It is kind of difficult as normally u won't notice this type of things unless u are extremely bored or just hallucinating after eating some medicine!
I have travelled around the school in search of faces and luckily we got some !! This proves that we have to have a active imagination and open-mindedness to the things around us!We cannot be just plainly looking at our phones and walking, we have to open our tiny eyes and see that actually everything in a different perspective there is a face!!! WOOHOOO~~

The sink has a face! thats kind of common as everyone uses a sink everyday sooooooooo its kind of a giveaway!

You can clearly see the 2 eyes and the long nose!!!! So cute! i can see it maybe probably I'm kind of crazy sometimes.... but oh well!

This one looks like the chairs are the eyes while the pillow on the floor is the lady lips! I think someone placed the pillow on the floor but oh well! it wasn't me who did it !

At the close, i see a 3 eyed face!! it looks so shocked!!! hahaha! i don't really think its a face in people's eyes but to me it is!

Then this is the long nose monster!!! Maybe i had nothing much to take so my imagination took me to that point of no return! xD

Now this is the real thing! u can see the eyes! one which is lighted and the other is the smoke vent i think1 the nose is the smoke detector and the mouth is some plug looking thing!

FINALLY... i got myself a first bobble head!! its a Funko dark phoenix which is my absolute favourite xmen character cause she's so powerful and ruthless yet AWESOME!!! *inner nerd pops out* JUST A FUN FACT.... i love marvel comics... especially uncanny xmen! I'm trying out new comics like batman or the DC series and i hope it goes well! YEAY!

THIS MARKS THE END OF MY WEEK8! PEWWWW! JUST A FEW MORE WEEKS AND IM FREE FROM THE FOUNDATION PROGRAM AND SCHOOL UNTIL NEXT YEAR! Hurray for me! ^^

E-reflection 8!!

SOME ARTSY STUFF

Since young, i always show fondness to art and would literally draw ANYWHERE if i have a pencil/pen to draw with! Walls... Floors... Papers... and even on cloth!! i would draw anything under the sun! I had no reference to draw to so i mostly drew stickmen but these 'cavemen' have a storyline which makes me really interested in continuing the drawing!

I don't really talk when i was younger, my grandfather even thought i was mute or deaf!! All i did was draw on bits and pieces of paper i find in the house. If i kept all the drawings i have drawn since young, i would have an entire evolution of men in the palms of my hands! Sadly i had to let go of most of my doodles to make way for new things.
But nonetheless... i still draw no matter what! On my school textbooks, worksheets, tables... i have to leave my mark on everything that i touch before! Most of my serious drawings and paintings starts when i am in sec1 as when i was in primary school, my parents doesn't let me do anything artsy as they want me to focus on my education.

LETS START THE ARTSY GOING

When i was sec2, i chose to take art as one of my level subjects as i couldn't imagine myself studying anything else than what I'm really good at.
I did a sketches using plainly blue ball-point pen and I'm actually quite good at pen drawings!
I did a lot of pen sketches and never used another colour other than blue cause i felt that blue stands out compared to the plain black and white contrast.
Personally, i don't like painting as its pretty difficult for me even though we hold a pencil-like thing to apply colours onto a medium. so most of my works are not painting except for wall paintings i did during my holiday.

SCHOOL SKETCHES AND WHERE I GET MOST OF MY INSPIRATION.

School to me is a place where i get most of my artsy feels to sketch and draw cause there are so many thing to see and get inference from! I get more inspired to do art in school compared to being at home.

I did this as my first pen sketch in school, I'm really happy with the results
as its my first time doing that. i found another strong material that I'm good
at which i used for my olevels!
This is probably my 3rd pensketch after my 1 line pen sketch activity. I'm really
impressed with what came out in the end. This spurred me to do better and improve my skills.
My very first still life sketch using plainly all colour pencils. From this colouring process, i learnt from
my art teacher how to colour in a more prominent and distinct way. From this, my colouring skills improved a lot but i still
refuse to colour any of my drawings cause i like it with pencil shading.

Just some flower sketches i did during my free time as a still life research for some random stuff.
still don't want to color in :P

Chilli color sketch ! Not really happy with the shadow cause it was a test and i coloured the wrong brown shade in.

MY SKETCHES IN FULL BLOOM YEAY.

Normally at home, i do big pencil sketches on A3 sized paper when i feel like doing something artsy.
I don't use traditional pencils as I'm too used to it. The first 2 is drawn and shaded by mechanical pencils but for the rest is traditional pencils!

I LOVE TOY STORY ALOT ESPECIALLY JESSIE!

I LOVE ALICE TOO CAUSE FOR MY OLEVEL ARTWORK I DID IT BASED ON HER FOR 9 MONTHS.

I love the movie soooo... i drew her! Pretty good to me as it was quite close to the character real features.

My version of Maleficent ! yeah!

I REALLY LOVE FROZEN TOO! oops!

DID I SAY IM A WALL PAINTER?

I do lots of drawings but i still like to improve my painting skills! so i painted the entire wall of my house! it started off with just one wall but soon it spread across the entire house since i had nothing to do ! I feel like Rapunzal in her castle! xD
From this... i improved my own painting skills without anybody helping me! I feel quite surprised with the end results too!

African Feel! my very first wall painting! yeah!

My second painting with I'm quite proud of because its pretty good! :)

Finally added colours into my life XD

My olevel work!! Its being displayed now in my school! IM SO PROUD OF IT!
ITS LIKE MY BABY AND CHILD.

Just a random hair drawing for a NAFA competition!
THIS IS JUST SOME OF MY WORKS ! I HAVE TOO MANY TO TAKE PICTURES OF! BUT IM PROUD TO BE A ART STUDENT AND SOON TO BE ART TEACHER ^^ woohoo~

E-reflection 7

THIS WEEK HAS BEEN A STRENUOUS WEEK BUT IM SO GLAD THAT IM GOING TO HAVE A WEEK BREAK NEXT WEEK! HURRAY FOR ME, MYSELF AND I !!

So this week, there weren't much artsy events for me to do... but we went to SAM once again but to another scarier exhibition in its premises.

SAM once again

So for another module Creative thinking, we went to Singapore Arts Museum for another exhibition called Medium At Large. Previously we went to the sensorium360 and it was kind of a headache.
When we reached there, we went to the exhibition to see a particular art piece called Shaggy, which is a Famous trending hairstyle in Indonesia!
Shaggy is made out of hair, curlers and clips, which is seriously digesting yet intriguing as it is unusual to use such material to design such big art pieces.
Our activity for that structure is to design a hairstyle that we always wanted but cannot get! So i drew a lady with massive big hair as Im fond of big hairstyles with no hair dye in my hair! She looks kind of like a villain from some Marvel or DC comics><

Then further into the exhibition, i noticed the sudden weirdness in the air as it suddenly turned a little more scry than i thought, like i have entered into some haunted house! the feeling is still lingering in my body and it still freaks me out!
Below is a entire room with many open books and dark patterns everywhere. At first i thought it was all coffins!!!

This photo is also quite interesting. Personally i really like anatomy of animals and human bodies! Quite gruesome to some but to me its kind of fun as i did a entire project about human anatomy before and is used to the disgusting images but bones, heart and other human body parts.
What i really like about this painting is that the skeleton looks so delicate and the colour scheme is really power and clean!
The mouse at the corner is painted so neatly . I'm kind of jealous of how the artist can paint so beautifully and i aim to do such magnificent artworks like him one day!

This piece here is using charcoal and paper. if u look carefully, its actually layers and layers of paper covered with charcoal shadings! Its my first time seeing charcoal paintings and i love how it can be so delicate and distinct, how the shading is so neat and how it shows roundness and roughness.
I noticed that most of the art pieces are all human and their body parts, which is my favourite type of subject as it shows both happiness and sorrow at the same time in the same exact moment!

THIS IS ACTUALLY MY FAVORITE AMONG ALL!!!
This looks like a body splattered on the wall brutally, i can feel the anger, frustration and pain of this painting. This painting is just made up of splotches and lines of thick red paint and black painted. none of the paint is smudged, which makes this piece such a incredible piece in my eyes. Yes... it gruesome but it really took my breathe away when i just sit there on the bench in front of the art piece.

This entire piece below is made up of metal shades which lets off some sparkling glittering feel. You can see the texture and see the contrast even though its all the same colour. The artist is really talented to be able to put a face using such fine powdery material!!

I LOVE THE SHADOWS THAT THIS STRUCTURE MADE ON THE WALL<3 Its unique structure makes it so versatile in its shadow and even though the structure is made out of just wooden lines , it shows contours and roundness ! but on the shadow, it mostly shows squarish feel and also u can analyse hat the more the lines collide with each other, the more darker the shadow is! This structure also makes the environment very artsy even in a empty plain room! I WOULD STAY IN THERE FOREVER!^^

TEACHERS DAY LEARNING HOW TO BE A TEACHER

The irony of how its teachers day and I'm learning how to be a teacher in the future. We were told to sketch and paint about bell peppers! I'm not really good at painting so its kind of a challenge for me, added with the small paper area given to me. Im kind go happy with the results even though i know that i can do better as i have painting pictures on walls in my house!
We were also told to bring a object that represents me so i bought my favourite figurine in my collection, Alice! Why Alice? It is because i did my o level artwork entirely based her and her adventures underground to wonderland! 9 months of hard work, so i can't really prevent my love for Alice in wonderland to bloom! i realised she is stubborn, imaginative, creative and kind of crazy like me ! so i believe that I'm like Alice in some ways except for the blonde hair!
Alice will be part of my final project in the end of the 12 weeks... which means i will be drawing alice once again for the next few weeks! YEAY FOR ME!

Though i didn't get to go back to my secondary school nor my primary school, i really enjoyed my week... Hopefully i can go back to either one of the schools again to see my teachers and some of my old friends and juniors!
Hopefully next week will be more ARTSY than this week~~

E reflection 6

This week has been really fun and really tiring cause of the amount of walking added together for this whole week.

This week, i went to the SAM museum and my very first Art Camp in school ! I made new friends and had a good time there even though i was a little sick ><

SAM Museum

So for one of my modules, we were told to go to SAM museum to get some pictures for our presentation for next week. When we went there, it was exhibiting the sensorium360 which overall showcases artworks which require all of our senses like sight, smell, hearing and touch.
I was really impressed with how creative the artists were in involving the audience to play a part with the exhibition.

I really liked the laser light show cause it was as if we were trapped in a box in the darkness and it looks as if we will get burnt when u try to get out of the laser box!! I was actually scared but this was really fun.

Then theres another exhibition which showcases mostly on smell. there was a row full of bottles with different smells. All of the bottle are labelled with colours, from the lightest colour to the darkest purple. All of the smells are probably spices because some were familiar smelling while others are really really pungent, making my eyes tear up really badly. We had to smell coffee beans to get back our sense of smell again! ><

Then theres also a very interesting structure made out of delicate intricate glasses with designs on it. There were spotlights surrounding around the structure which made delicate shadows on the floor ! It is really creative and i really liked it a lot!

Then we got to write on some silver round paper about how we feel during the entire exhibition!
it was quite neat and i hope there will be such exhibition for us again!!

CAMP - NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED

So.... later in the week, i went for a camp which i have signed up with my friends in my school! I was quite reluctant to go but it feels like a once in a life time opportunity for me to see new people from other classes and other departments!
I do not have any photos for the first day as the camp started really late at night and i was just warming up to my new peers!

DAY 2 OF THE ARTSY CAMP- still not fit for the faint hearted

So there were some activities for us to choose from, like Batik, Dance, Graffiti, Caricature and Senior Talks!! BUT U KNOW WHAT I CHOSE!!!
I have always taken interest in Graffiti but knowing that its somewhat illegal in singapore, I do not have a chance to try my hands at graffiti.
Graffiti to me is a form of expression to voice what teenagers really want to say as they do not have a chance to do that due to the nature of singaporeans and their upbringings.
After a lecture by the instructor, i finally got a chance to do it right behind my school!!! I was quite hesitant to do it but soon i got the hang of it and sprayed the word 'phoenix' on the pink wall!

Why phoenix? The reason why i did that is because i love the character Phoenix or known as Jean Grey from the Marvel Xmen series, she's powerful but inside her real self is fighting the demonic dark phoenix who is ruining her life and killing those she loves.

I did a cloudy effect to showcase the flight of the phoenix as she has colour codes and costumes which is either green, white and red. She is mostly made of fire, hence the orangey red words.
I signed my name at the corner but my name is far too big for the wall to handle.

Then we were given glow rings to put around ourselves! yeah!

The ones who took on the dance activity had to do a dance segment for the entire camp to see!! IT IS REALLY CATCHY and they are full of energy though it is very tiring for them since none of them had a full sleep last night!

After the entire camp, We were given a certificate for completing the entire camp in one piece! We were also given a badge to symbolised we are survivors of this gruelling camp!!!

SOME RANDOM PHOTOS!

WE PAINTED OUR FACES AND WE LOOK FUNNY WALKING DOWN THE STREET!

I really had lots of fun with my team ... THE PINK FUNKS!!!! though we completed 4th in the team challenges but at least we weren't last! I made lots of new friends with my team and i hope we get to see each other again! and for the existing friends i have in the same team, we bonded a lot and are much closer!! The OLs were really nice towards us and encourage us to do it to the best of my abilities!

Just to end this... I really hope theres more camps again cause this experience made me a lot stronger and happier.... YEAY<3
